Design Guidelines

Prepare your artwork the right way — for clean edges, bold colors, and smooth production. Made in Italy. Free Digital Proof before production starts.

File Formats
Vector: AI, PDF, SVG • Raster: PNG, JPG (300 dpi)
Minimum Size
Text ≥ 2.5–3 mm • Line weight ≥ 0.3–0.5 mm
Borders & Bleed
Safety margin: 2–3 mm • Edges: merrowed or laser-cut
Colors
Provide Pantone if available. Embroidery ≈ solid colors, Print/PVC = full color

Artwork & Resolution

  • Vector preferred (AI, PDF, SVG) — convert all fonts to outlines.
  • Raster files: 300 dpi at final size, transparent background for clean edges.
  • Include a color preview PNG so we can verify colors and layout.
  • Avoid shadows/glows for Embroidered & Woven; Printing/PVC can reproduce effects.

Size, Shape & Edge Finish

  • Base cost on the longest side (width or height). Custom shapes are welcome.
  • Merrowed: classic rounded edge — great for simple outlines.
  • Laser-Cut: precision edge — ideal for complex shapes and cutouts.

Text & Legibility

  • Embroidery: stick to clean sans-serif or simple serif fonts; min. 2.5–3 mm height.
  • Woven/Printed: allows finer text; ensure enough contrast for readability.
  • Avoid ultra-thin lines or reversed text at very small sizes.

Colors & Matching

  • Provide Pantone Solid Coated codes or upload brand guidelines.
  • Embroidery uses real thread colors — closest Pantone match, slight variations possible.
  • Printed/PVC: full color with gradients, photo details (print), or 2D/3D effects (PVC).

Backing Options

  • Sew-On: maximum durability, works on all fabrics.
  • Iron-On: quick application; follow our Iron-On Instructions.
  • Velcro® (Hook & Loop): removable and reusable — perfect for uniforms and gear.
  • Adhesive: temporary or promo use, best on smooth surfaces.

Free Digital Proof — What We Check

  • Edges, spacing & contour accuracy (merrowed/laser-cut).
  • Color matching (Pantone/thread) and text readability.
  • Scaling to final size & material recommendations per patch type.

Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Vector file or 300 dpi raster at final size
  • Fonts converted to outlines / fonts attached
  • Pantone/brand colors specified (if available)
  • Safety margin of 2–3 mm respected
  • Edge finish selected (merrowed/laser-cut)
  • Backing chosen (Sew-On, Iron-On, Velcro®, Adhesive)
  • Checked legibility of small text
  • Preview PNG included
